Daily devotion – remember and thank Him once again
Luk 17:17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
Over the years here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, God has wonderfully touched people’s lives with some amazing miracles.
I was reflecting on some of these that we have prayed for, situations that involved the lives of individuals in our fellowship, and how God answered our prayers in times of desperation.
I have spoken to some folks about sharing once again with the Church the blessed miraculous work God did in their particular situation.
Jesus you will remember had ten lepers who cried out to Him for mercy. They knew that Jesus was totally in command of even disease and death, and they trusted Him to help them. Jesus healed them as you know and He told them to go and see the priest, even though at that time they still had leprosy.
In faith they headed off and it was on their journey that God healed them all. All ten!
You would expect this whole group to run back and thank Jesus for what had happened in their lives, being healed of leprosy, but only one returned and personally thanked Jesus for his healing. Jesus wanted to know where the other nine men were!
Often, in our own lives, God has carried out some amazing miracles, and at the time we have been thankful. But then we have just gone our way and have forgotten what Jesus did for us.
I am sure in your own life God has done the miraculous. Would it not be thoughtful and right for us to continue to give thanks to God for what He has done? To not just move on and forget all about what had happened, to not give it another thought?
Take a moment now, remember all that God has done for you and thank Him again – He will be so pleased as was Jesus with the one cured leper who did so.
