Daily devotion – unsinkable!

Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Today there are available rescue craft that can head out into treacherous seas and no matter the swell, the size of the waves, are capable of self-correcting should they be hit by massive wave and instead of sinking, they roll over and re-right themselves able to continue on in their rescue mission.

On all ocean-going vessels of size, each ship has an instrument called a gyroscope. When the sea is rough, the gyroscope helps to keep the ship on an even keel. Though the waves may reach tremendous size, the gyroscope helps to stabilize the vessel and maintain a high degree of equilibrium.

When we receive Christ as our Lord and Saviour, the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit takes up residency within us, that we become the temple of the Holy Spirit.

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

When the storms of life break over our heads, when the enemy Satan comes in like a flood, when the waves of sorrow and grief wash over us, the Holy Spirit does an amazing work in our lives.

Our souls will be kept on an even keel and in perfect peace when the Holy Spirit dwells in our hearts.

He comforts us with God’s abiding presence and assures us that God’s promises are true.

We can then continue on in our course to our final destination.

How wonderful to know we are ever safe in His presence no matter the waves of opposition!
