(THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN YOUR LIFE)
This Week at Calvary
Another week, another day, closer to the return of Christ for His Church. Let us be watching and praying! Thank you to all those who offered to serve by assisting in transporting a young mum to treatments at hospital – such a blessing! We will be removing the ramp inside the Church sanctuary shortly and extending the platform. This will free up some seating space and provide more room for our worship team. On your seat today you will find a Connection card. For those seeking to serve the Lord and His Church here at CCSH, you can fill in the card and place it in the offering box, which will Lord willing lead to an increase of our current 85 plus servant team here!
Helen’s Heart
When I am weak then I am strong – 2 Corinthians 12:10 When the Apostle Paul battled physical weakness and opposition to his ministry he looked to God for strength. In our difficult times it is good to commit our weakness, our difficulty, our illness and allow God to work in our lives. Cast your burdens on the Lord and He shall sustain thee – Psalm 55:22.
The Praying Church
You are invited to pray alongside others in the prayer team each Sunday morning at 9:45am in classroom #1, but especially with the Church here at CCSH Wednesday evenings at 7:00PM.
1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
From the Pastors Desk
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” The great need in the Church today is preaching that pierces the heart. But you won’t hear that in any of the Church growth seminars. Instead, they say you ought to make the church service more palatable for the world and more comfortable for sinners. Entertain them but don’t convict them. Lace your sermons with large doses of humour and pop psychology, but never make the people squirm. But what did Paul say about this? To Timothy, he wrote, 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables. 2 Tim 4:2-4. The church does not need a softened gospel. The church needs a gospel that pierces the heart.
Short Sayings –
“Don’t ever come to church without coming as though it were the first time, as though it could be the best time, and as though it could be the last time.” Vance Havner

Grace Giving
Mark 12: 41 Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. Located on the eastern side of the sanctuary is a container for your grace giving – or you may wish to give electronically via the CCSH account – 2490144 – BSB – 306089
