This Week at Calvary The school holidays have commenced and therefore the following are in recess – Tuesday’s Calvary Women’s Bible Study and Friday night kids and youth programs. We celebrate holy communion this morning, Jesus asked that each time we participate in the Lord’s Supper that we would remember Him! Let us all with thanksgiving do that today. Directly after this morning’s service you are invited to join us for a fellowship lunch. Will you become part of the most needed and yet most powerful ministry the Church can offer? To be part of the prayer team, praying before the Sunday services, praying on Wednesday evenings with other prayer warriors, being part of the 24/7 SMS prayer line for urgent prayer matters? Will you use this most powerful privilege to see God’s will done on earth as it is in Heaven. Prayer changes everything!
From the Pastors Desk Recent changes to abortion laws in Western Australia are as follows: “fully decriminalising abortion, increasing a gestational time limit for a procedure from 20 to 24 weeks, abolishing mandatory counselling and scrapping the need for a GP referral.” As the Church of Jesus Christ here in Western Australia, we hold a very responsible position for the life of the innocent, especially the unborn who have no voice, no vote, and no rights as God’s creation. We cannot just let these changes be made by our elected government. We must pray for the lives of all and every unborn child in our land. In addition, please write to your local MP and express your heartache and disapproval of abortion in our nation. But above all, please pray! We as the Church of Jesus Christ have a responsibility to spiritually go to war against the works of Satan. Will you take the only true and right position as a believer on abortion – that position is on your knees in prayer for the innocent! Psa 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Corrie Ten Boom was imprisoned in Ravensbrook concentration camp in WW2. She travelled the world after the war telling her story of forgiveness. Until the age of 85 she had not had a permanent home when friends provided her with a lovely house in California. Her friends exclaimed how good God has been to give her this beautiful home. She replied, “God was good to me in Ravensbrook, too.” We will most likely never experience the horror Corrie faced but we can in our despair depend on God’s promise Fear not for I am with you….
