Daily devotion – Confidence in God’s Word

Pastor Keith   -

The inerrancy of the Scriptures

Act 1:15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said,
Act 1:16 “Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;

The disciples had great confidence in the Scriptures. Something which is lacking today as many people live by their feelings and experiences above the Word of God.

But the disciples believed in both the inerrancy and the inspiration of the Scriptures. First, they believed if God said it, it would come to pass. “This Scripture HAD to be fulfilled.”

Secondly, they recognized that all Scripture was given by inspiration of God, “which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David.”

We as Christ’s Church today, must protect these two basic fundamental beliefs: the inerrancy and inspiration of the Scriptures, because Satan is constantly trying to destroy them. From the beginning in the garden, Satan has been trying to shake your and my confidence in God’s Word. That was his motive behind his question to Eve – “Has God indeed said…?”
Genesis 3:1

Satan knows the moment we compromise on those foundational truths is the moment our faith is jeopardized.

This week keep in God’s Word, believe God’s Word and live out God’s Word!
