Daily devotion – hope in the most difficult of times

Pastor Keith   -

What happens when a child dies before the age of accountability is a great question that I have been asked often.

Why do I believe the Bible teaches that children as such go to heaven when they die? In the book of Isaiah, it talks about an age before a child is morally accountable, that is before the child ‘knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right.’

Isaiah 7:16 – “For before the child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good….”

You will remember King David spoke of going to be with his son who died just days after his birth.

2Sa 12:23 “But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.”

Jesus also said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

These are great Scriptures that give us great hope for those who have had to walk this most difficult path of sorrow with the death of a little one.
