Daily devotion – listening in!

Pastor Keith   -

Mal 3:16
Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another,
And the LORD listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the LORD
And who meditate on His name.

Helen and I remember when our four children were all of a reasonably young age. Our beginning houses were relatively small as we tried to not have a large mortgage and we had the two boys in one room and the two girls in another but adjacent to one another.

Bedtime was around 7 – 7:30pm and they would head off to bed but obviously not go to sleep straight away but they would chatter away to one another until they dropped off to sleep.

Many times, Helen and I would spend time in the short passage near their rooms listening to their excited and wonderful talking with one another. A beautiful time and lasting memory.

The prophet Malachi tells us that our heavenly Father likes to eavesdrop as well, to listen to His children talk with one another of His wonder and glory.

He loves this so much that He goes one step further that us, He actually writes down what we say when we speak of His grace and His love.

How wonderful it will be when we get to Heaven and the Bible tells us all the books will be opened. I am so looking forward to this one, to read and hear what we have said about Him in our lifetime here on earth prior to our going home to glory.

Won’t you?
