Helen’s Heart After all the washing, cleaning, grocery shopping, changing of diapers, raising and instilling values to our children – it is good at the end of the day to peek into the children’s rooms and see their calm and peace as they sleep. A job well done! What a priceless gift we give our family in mothering. Proverbs 31:27 She watches over the ways of her household…Love changes diapers, cleans up mess and ties shoes over and over again. Love is kind though tired and frazzled. Love doesn’t try to impress others with her knowledge as a mother. Love doesn’t lose her temper easily and scream at the kids. Love is genuinely happy when others are honoured by their children. Love doesn’t feel cheated by being a mother – a mother’s adaption of 1 Corinthians 13.

From the Pastors Desk The devastating fires on Maui have left a trail of destruction and heartbreak, claiming the lives of over 100 individuals. In times of such tragedy, the global Calvary Chapels, together with organizations like Samaritan’s Purse under the guidance of Franklin Graham, have stepped forward to provide much-needed support. As they reach out to offer assistance, their most fervent request is for our prayers. Amidst these trying circumstances, the call for prayer resonates strongly. The early Church’s response to challenges was not to hastily institute programs but to uphold the importance of prayer and ministry of the Word. Just as the Apostles prioritized these vital aspects, let us also recognize that prayer holds immense power and significance. In our local churches, pastors understand that dedicating time to prayer and studying the Word is pivotal. It equips them to minister effectively and stand prepared before their congregations. The Apostle Paul’s commitment to delivering the truth he received from the Lord underscores this principle.
For those affected by the fires in Maui, their plea for our prayers is an acknowledgment of the spiritual strength that emerges from collective supplication. By joining together in prayer, we provide valuable support to those who are directly affected and to those who are ministering to them. Therefore, in response to this call, I encourage you and your family to commit yourselves to fervent prayer. Let’s intercede for the people of Maui, the Calvary Chapels involved, and all those affected by this tragedy. Our unified prayers can bring comfort, hope, and strength to those facing loss and adversity. But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word – Acts 6:4
