Daily devotion – Faith to believe
Hebrews 11:6 reminds us of the profound truth: “And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
In this moment of your life, I want to encourage you to step out in faith like never before. It’s easy to slip into a routine where we go through the motions without truly engaging our hearts and minds. Just as a marriage can lose its spark and become routine, our relationship with God can sometimes lack the vibrant faith that once ignited it.
Throughout the Gospels, we encounter instances where Jesus is amazed by someone’s faith. One such example is the story of the centurion in Capernaum. This Roman officer’s faith moved Jesus deeply.
In Matthew 8, we read that the centurion approached Jesus, pleading for the healing of his paralyzed servant. The centurion displayed incredible faith by telling Jesus that a simple command from Him would suffice to heal the servant, given the centurion’s understanding of authority and obedience.
Jesus marveled at this faith, declaring, “I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!” The centurion’s belief that Jesus had the power to heal without physical presence demonstrated a level of faith that stood out.
As we reflect on the truths revealed through the letters to the churches in Galatia and Colossae, we are reminded of the greatness of Christ’s work on the Cross at Calvary. While our salvation is a profound gift, it’s important to recognize that God’s power extends beyond it.
Let us be intentional in our prayer life, approaching God with every aspect of our lives. Let us boldly ask Him for the miraculous, believing that He can move mountains and transform even the most challenging situations. This is the essence of praying in faith – trusting that God can do the impossible.
Take a moment to evaluate your spiritual walk. Are you merely going through the motions, or are you living by faith? Are you expecting God to bring hope, life, and joy into impossible circumstances? Are you trusting Him to bring victory in the face of adversity?
Remember, the righteous live by faith. Let us choose to live by faith each day, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. May our lives be marked by vibrant, unwavering faith in our faithful and powerful God.
