Daily devotion – the decision of life

Pastor Keith   -

Romans 1: Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God 2 which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, 3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. 5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, 6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;

The Old Testament predicted Christ’s birth, death, and His resurrection. The New Testament documents the fulfilment of these prophecies, yet many people reject this truth.

Yet, biographies of so many others are believed when they were written long after their deaths. Many people through the centuries never have a record of their own births. Yet the existence of Jesus is still called into question despite Christ’s intricate genealogy recorded in the Bible that has stood the test of time.

Sceptics question Jesus’ existence because of the ‘silent years’ from age twelve to thirty. Yet the Bible documents great numbers of eyewitness accounts of Jesus birth, His Person, His ministry, His death, and His bodily Resurrection!

Ask yourself: “What do I believe about the empty cross and the empty tomb of Jesus Christ? The foot of the empty cross is the place of salvation from sin, and Christ’s empty tomb illuminates with the light that brings the redeemed soul to its ultimate destination – eternal life.

Acceptance of Jesus sacrifice, or rejection of it, determines the future life of every living person.

If you do not believe that Jesus died for you, then you will remain the same person you are, being gripped by sin and dying by its penalty, with certainty of eternal judgment in Hell and eternal separation from God.

But if you believe that Jesus rose from the grave, achieving victory over the cross of death, and you accept that He paid your penalty, you will never be the same!

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the unshakeable truth of Christ’s resurrection. Help me to fully grasp the significance of His victory over sin and death. As I reflect on the empty cross and the empty tomb, renew my faith and empower me to live as a transformed and victorious believer. May I boldly share the message of Christ’s resurrection with others and walk in the assurance of eternal hope. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
