Daily devotion – the Majesty of God

Pastor Keith   -

Job 11: 7 “Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty? 8 They are higher than heaven— what can you do? Deeper than Sheol— what can you know? 9 Their measure is longer than the earth And broader than the sea.”

As I grow older in my relationship with God, I am increasingly staggered at how little our world, our universe is in comparison to God.

There is so much I do not understand or know about God, but I believe our time, eternity in Heaven, will be all encompassing in us knowing Him more and more each moment.

God’s ways are often mysterious to us. We do not always understand why bad things happen and why other desirable things don’t occur. We often wish that God would act in accordance to how we see things don’t we? Sometimes we find ourselves confused, disappointed, or a little upset.

But the correct response to God’s direction is to trust God’s knowledge. God knows all the possible outcomes of any event and He is never surprised by something happening.

God allows or prevents certain events based on this knowledge. If we truly trust God, we can relax and know that whatever the comes our way, God will help us and be with us and we will survive.

God can even take a negative situation and cause something good to come out of it. He is amazing! He is after all God!

Embrace Humility: Recognize that God’s ways are beyond human comprehension. Embrace a posture of humility before Him, acknowledging that He is the ultimate source of wisdom.
Trust in God’s Goodness: Although we may not understand everything, we can trust in God’s character. His goodness, love, and faithfulness are unwavering, even in the midst of life’s mysteries.
Seek God’s Wisdom: While we may not fully comprehend God’s ways, we can seek His wisdom through prayer, study of His Word, and seeking guidance from mature believers.
Rest in His Sovereignty: Remember that God’s sovereignty means He is in control, even when we don’t understand the circumstances. Rest in the assurance that He works all things together for good.
Embrace the Mystery: Instead of becoming frustrated by the mysteries of life, embrace them as opportunities to grow in faith and dependence on God.
Surrender Control: Release the need to have all the answers. Trust that God’s plan is perfect, even when we can’t see the whole picture.
Praise in the Unknown: Offer praise and worship to God even when you don’t fully understand His ways. Your praise reflects a heart that trusts in Him beyond human comprehension.

Gracious Father, I am humbled by the depth of Your wisdom and the vastness of Your ways. Help me embrace the mystery of Your plans, even when I cannot fully understand them. Grant me the wisdom to seek You and trust in Your goodness, even in the midst of life’s uncertainties. May my heart find rest in Your sovereignty and my faith grow stronger as I surrender to Your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
