Daily devotion – a call to fast and pray now!
There are certain times and issues, that I really struggle with as we live in a fallen world. Violence against children is something that fills my heart with both rage and sadness. The Western Australian Government has just passed changes to the current Abortion Laws that cannot go without comment.
Without going into the greater horrific detail of the changes, let’s just say that there is now no consideration at all for the child yet to be born, yet to breath for the first time, yet to feel love and enter this world, alive! I reached the peak of my indignation; and it was shattering to listen to the pathetic waffling on via the radio, of the state minister speaking on behalf of her government as to why these ‘necessary’ changes were made to the abortion laws, and that they will come into action within 6 months’ time.
I was in the car with Helen as we listened to the extent of vileness and evil that the killing of unborn children was interwoven and spun with a diatribe of words that sounded so much like the Nuremberg Confession. Well did Isaiah prophesy of such a time – Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
As we heard this cacophony of complete disdain for life, I also recognized what would be the fallout from our state government decision in bringing in these changes, upon us as a state and a nation.
Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. God must judge us now!
God cannot and will not stand by and just let such treatment of unborn children occur without judgment falling upon our nation. If we think things are difficult due to the economy and other such worldly matters, with what we are doing to the innocent unborn child, things are surely going to get far worse now. God will be furious in His holy wrath upon such a people who would carry out such evil actions.
What can I or we do about such matters? We as Christ’s Church here in this nation need to fast and pray about this matter and intercede for the nation and people of Australia like never before. We need to seek God’s forgiveness and call on His mercy to intercede on behalf of those who are too young to kneel and pray, the unborn.
But God is a holy God, and these changes in the abortion laws will bring His judgment.
We as His Church are living in the Last Days of great wickedness. God help us as His Church today to be used by Him in some way to help the innocent unborn children of our land.
Our position on abortion is best summarised in these words – “On our knees!”
