Daily devotion – foolish and wise

Pastor Keith   -

Mat 25:13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”

In our midweek meetings I have been teaching through the details of the Rapture, the Great Tribulation and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

When Jesus returns, that is His Second Coming, He will gather the nations for judgment and there will also be what’s called the Great White Throne Judgment – Rev 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.

Each of these events will be a time of separation: the wise will be separated from the foolish, the faithful servants from the unfaithful, the blessed (sheep) from the cursed (goats).

The wise virgins had oil and were prepared to meet the Bridegroom. Mat 25:1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Mat 25:2 Five of the virgins were foolish, and five were wise.”

Many people profess to be Christians but do not have the Holy Spirit – Rom 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him – and are not born again.

They may mingle with the saved, but they are not really one of them; and they will not enter into the marriage feast.

For many Church goers, the Rapture will occur, and they will have no idea it has happened. They will turn up to Church the following Sunday and find either of the following:

The Church will be shut, and no one will be there.

Or they will arrive, find plenty of room in the car park and just a few people gathering with them.

The Rapture will be a time of heartbreak separation when those who have not been prepared, not been ready, not filled with the oil, will realize, they’re not sheep at all but have been living foolishly as wild goats.

Rev 3:3 Therefore, remember what you received and heard, and obey it, and repent. If you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will never know at what hour I will come against you.
