Daily devotion – answers to life’s problems
Ecc 1: 16 I communed with my heart, saying, “Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” 17 And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind.
18 For in much wisdom is much grief, And he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.
Chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow only ever leaves one exhausted and disappointed. People who go through life seeking an explanation for everything will always be unhappy for at least two reasons:
First, this side of Heaven, there are no explanations for some things that happen. And God is not obligated to explain them away. Many times, when God was asked why in the Bible, when He did explain, those who asked could not understand His answer anyway.
Secondly, God has ordained that His people live by faith, by promises and not by explanations. Not by sight!
“Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” John 20:29.
Solomon was the wisest man on earth, but still he was unable to find the answers he was seeking. In fact, his great wisdom and knowledge only increased his sorrow and grief.
People who live innocently day after day under the shadow of trusting in the Lord, never feel the pain of wrestling with God in seeking to understand His ways.
It’s what make Him God after all!
I urge you to fulfill the calling God has on your life today and tomorrow. As you do that one thing, you will find that you leave all the problems, the whys with He who knows all things.
His will for you is to have joy and to know Him!
Let Him carry the load that you were not designed to struggle with.
