Daily devotion – the Church together…

Pastor Keith   -

Act 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Act 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

This Saturday at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, we will be gathering together to ‘spring clean’ the Church inside and out. Many people have signed up to take part and we have many jobs outlined to be completed. But there will be something that each person serving on Saturday will take home with them.

Each serving saint will leave with joy that only comes by serving alongside and with other believers in the service of the Lord. People will work and chat, pray with one another, share prayer needs and get to know people in a far greater fashion. Some brothers and sisters in Christ will make new bonds that would never have occurred simply because they volunteered to serve at a Church spring cleaning day.

Because of our current lifestyle of busyness, and time scarcity, the sad fact is that the Church is missing a key element of being the body of Christ. That is of getting to know one another more and the blessing that only comes with serving the Lord alongside another saint who too has been saved by Jesus Christ from their sins and now also has eternal life as well.

When we isolate ourselves to just one Sunday morning service, where we just attend Church, we miss out the wonderful dynamic that the Lord has embedded in His body the Church. The power of fellowship whilst serving alongside another brother or sister in Christ.

After all the work is finished and we also have had the joy of a scrumptious breakfast eating together, we will leave the Church grounds with a gift. The gift of joy that is as a result of serving our Lord Jesus Christ with joy in our hearts in companionship with other precious saints.

Its not actually about the “Spring Cleaning Day”, though helpful, but it is all about gathering together in the name of Jesus Christ – which is but a sample of what Heaven will be like!

See you all there Saturday, 8:30am. Work clothes on, hearts ready to serve, and for the community of Secret Harbour to see Christ’s new commandment in action – Jhn 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. Jhn 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

It’s just the beginning!
