Daily devotion – The veil to fall soon…
Thank you all for praying for Israel. This Sunday, we’ll step away from our series in 2 Timothy to provide more information on what’s happening in Israel and what it means for us.
The events in Israel have deeply affected us, but from Heaven, God sees His plan coming to maturity. God chose a small and powerless nation, the Israelites, to bring salvation to the world. He repeatedly brings strength out of their weakness, as seen in the lives of judges like Jephthah, Gideon, and Samson.
In the book of Habakkuk, the prophet asks God to renew Israel’s failing society, and God responds that He will allow Israel to become weaker to bring about new strength. Despite the Babylonian exile and the attempt to erase their identity, Israel did not lose its distinctive religious and national identity.
Psalm 137 reflects the sentiment of the exiles in Babylon, wondering how they could sing the Lord’s song in a foreign land. Yet, they confronted their sin, and their weakness turned into strength. And they sang!
Currently, Israel, as God’s chosen people, is blinded to Jesus Christ. The veil on their hearts will be lifted when they turn to the Lord. The events in Israel and around the world are moving toward the time when Israel, as God’s chosen people, will declare the glory of the God of Israel and their Messiah Jesus Christ to the entire world.
As we witness these events, let’s continue to work, watch, and pray, recognizing that God’s ultimate plan is coming to its final goal.
