Daily devotion – Christmas from Heavens view!
1Pe 1:12
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
The first Christmas viewed from the Heavenly vantage point gives us a whole other side of the story to what would happen in a little town called Bethlehem.
Paul gives us an insight to the events behind the scene in his letter to the Church at Philippi 2: – 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
Peter in his first letter informs us that the angels did not have the full understanding I believe of what the Son of God was going to do when He became the Son of Man born to a virgin in Bethlehem. As the first Christmas approaches one can imagine as Jesus rose from being seated at the right hand of His Father’s throne and prepared to take on the form of humanity. Even more – a tiny newborn child, unable to speak, unable to walk or feed Himself. This must have caused the angels to simply wonder!
As we approach Christmas, let us never forget what Jesus did in leaving Heaven and coming to earth, where He would be beaten, ridiculed, tortured, mocked, and crucified by His own creation.
Yet the Bible tells us the reason He did this was to save us from our sins and to redeem us, reconcile us back into a relationship once again with our Creator.
Will you take a moment to read slowly through Philippians 2:5-8. Then you will most certainly be assured, God loves you! A love so great He left Heaven for you so that you could be in Heaven, with Him!
Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
