Daily devotion – peace or war!
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace….Luke 2:14
The years have continued to roll on to bring us now to the year 2023, and still the world longs for and looks the peace that the chorus of angels sang to the shepherds that first Christmas Eve in a field just out of Bethlehem.
As we look at Israel right now, the land of Christ’s birth, its torn by war and violence – so we ask, “Where is His peace?”
I will let you know where it is. This peace abides in the hearts of all those who have trusted His grace. And in the same proportion that the world has trusted in Christ, it also has peace.
Yet our world continues to be ravaged by wars and unrest. Due to man’s ability to build nuclear weapons, there is no country now that is completely safe or completely at peace!
The greatest war of all was not WW1 or WW2 however, no the greatest war is between us and God, as we stubbornly rebel against His authority and defiantly seize control of our lives apart from Him.
But there can be an end to this war, if we would but yield ourselves to Jesus Christ and call Him Lord.
Then we can and will have peace – peace with God, peace in our hearts, and peace with each other.
