Daily devotion – bread

Pastor Keith   -

Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

As I read the newspaper each day and watch the latest events on the news media I see a world in the preparation period for the coming of the Antichrist. War in Israel with all nations being sucked into choosing sides allowing no one to remain neutral as immigration particularly in Europe has transformed the political landscapes of many countries.

Panic is always a breath away in the financial news with constant reports of another possible global financial crisis.

Covid just won’t go away and today’s paper advising us it here for at least the next 40 years.

But as I heed Jesus words and open my Bible each morning, any anxiousness that I may have is swallowed up with the knowledge that God is running things to His plan. That what sustains us is not what we consume from the world but what God’s Word feeds us instead.

We do live in God’s grace and peace because of God’s Word speaking to us each day and reminding us of His love for us.

As the children of Israel were sustained by the heavenly manna in the wilderness, we are sustained by the Bread of Life Himself – God’s Word filling us with His peace and hope!

He is the Bread of Life!
