Daily devotion – Forgiven!
Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God, day and night.
Even though you are a Christian, and have committed your life to Christ and received His forgiveness by grace through faith, are you troubled by your past still?
Satan our enemy never stops accusing us and whispering in our ears about our sinful ways. He is relentless and there are many believers who still feel they have let God down and find it difficult to escape their past.
Firstly, let us be reminded that God loves us no matter what we have done – Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We are reminded of the story of the prodigal son, even though he was foolish and sinful, his father waited each day on the road home to the farm, longing to see his son return – for he loved him so!
The last thing you want to do is to spend your life filled with guilt of things that God has forgiven!
Secondly, if we stumble today or this week, we are to be reminded of what the Apostle John instructed us to do.
1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jo 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
May God’s truth set you free today and remove you from the condemnation of the accuser Satan. Truth always gives us hope and God desires to have you realise and live in His wonderful grace each day!
If you feel as if you have failed God, ask for His forgiveness – and ask Him also to help you forgive yourself for what you have done.
Then commit your future to Him.
Christ’s precious blood cleanses us from ALL sin.
Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
