This week at Calvary – Welcome to 2024 and all that the Lord has prepared for us as we live in these Last Days! This morning we celebrate Communion together and come to the table of thanksgiving to remember our Lord. Parents in 2024, if you have Sunday school aged children, we ask you to be part of the servant team here at CCSH. Sunday school children’s age participation is up to 11 years of age only. Is your child ready to graduate from Sunday school into the main sanctuary – pleased see Helen Carmody if that is the case. This morning, Thomas and Rebecca Woodage and family, are filling in for the pastor in Collie’s Church of Christ. Keep then in your prayers. Look forward to seeing you here Sunday night and Wednesday as we recommence our 2024 year in the worship and study of God’s word. Seize the blessed opportunity to be part of the fellowship here at CCSH by connecting into both these services this year! We will be making a special announcement straight after Communion this morning that you won’t want to miss! Calvary ladies, Tuesday am Bible studies will start up on the 13th of February. This Sunday night, if you child has graduated from Sunday school, we encourage them to sit under Pastor Israel’s teaching series as we see Sunday nights as having a great influence on the youth of CCSH and their maturing in the Lord. Parents don’t forget to help your kids remember their giving in Sunday school.
From the Pastors Desk – In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth – Gen 1:1 Creation or evolution? If we have been created by God, and made in His image, this will have massive implications to how we live our lives! Evolution – just mindless forces of nature, that too will influence our thinking of just how we should live and think. For a Christian, the passion and drive to study the origins as taught in Genesis, encourages us to an even extent to know more the very foundations of all things! If the Genesis account of creation is untrue, then it casts doubt in the rest of the Bible. How you believe or disbelieve Gen 1:1 will dictate your eternity!
Helen’s Heart Your God has commanded you strength – Psalm 68:28 Evermore is the need for Christians who will stand strong in their convictions, to go against the status quo. Our country is moving fast down the path of tolerance and acceptance. “This lifestyle is fine as long as it doesn’t affect me, they need the same rights as everyone else” is their cry. On how we need in our schools, offices, factories, lunchrooms, boardrooms, universities – men and women, young people of God to speak the things of God, to stand firm and strong! Because the only way a Christian knows that Jesus, the Son of God, died on Calvary to pay the penalty of sin, that He rose from the dead, is from Scripture! If the Bible can’t be trusted, then the Christian cannot truly know he or she is saved!
Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Calvary Chapel Nasinu –
“Greetings in the name of our Risen Saviour Jesus Christ. Firstly I want to praise God for His faithfulness and guidance throughout the year as we enter another year. On our New Years eve service I had an opportunity to speak in the village methodist service. About 20+ responded to the Gospel. Praise be to God. The next 2 weeks I will be on break and planning and also preparing for school stuff for my kids. Thanks for your continuous support and prayers. Love to your family and as well to the church families.” Pastor Charles.
