Daily devotion – planned and prepared
Have you ever wondered what planning went into the building of the Ark by Noah? If you have ever seen anyone build anything of quality, there is tremendous planning and the drawing of the structure carried out before one hammer is swung in the building process.
In Genesis 6, we are not given the complete list of building instructions that the Lord gave Noah – who had never built a boat before!
13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the Ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch. 15 And this is how you shall make it: The length of the Ark shall be three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. 16 You shall make a window for the Ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the Ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.
I am sure a full-blown blueprint was provided to Noah for such a complex and vital construction task.
Also, we know that God would have given Noah and his sons the enablement to build this magnificent Ark of Salvation when they grew up.
The God of the Bible is a God of detail – He plans and places everything in its perfect order. In creation, we see only exquisite handiwork and beautiful design in all that He created.
There is a very curious Scripture that Jesus gives us in the New Testament that amplifies the perfectness and detail that reflects the character of God.
Matthew 10 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
God attends the funeral of every sparrow and God has numbered even the hairs on our heads!
Jesus tells us that God has everything worked out to the finest detail. Our birth, our life and our death. He orders our steps and knows what we will say before we say it!
Today, be reassured that nothing catches God by surprise that is happening in your life. The blueprint has been prepared, and the plan will proceed.
This is why the Bible tells us that God is the author and finisher of our faith…He has designed us and our lives exquisitely.
Therefore, I can live in peace and comfort, live a life of patient trust in God, wit the knowledge that He has all my tomorrows sorted out – for His glory!
