Daily devotion – the throne of God.

The Throne of God!

Today’s devotion is more of a mini-Bible study, which I encourage you to take. The Holy Scriptures so often need no explanation just our gestation!

King David gave us a great piece of advice as to how we were to approach and know the word of God – Psa 119:15 I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.

Meditate here portrays the picture of how a cow chews over its cud. It’s getting the Word of God and studying it to wring out every piece of truth that God desires us to know.

Today I want you to examine the wonder and majesty of the throne of God!

1Hebrews 4: 4 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

What’s your view of the throne of God? To the unsaved person, God’s throne is a throne of judgment.

Revelation 20: 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

But to God’s children, it is a throne of grace.

When you are tempted, you can come to your great High Priest for mercy and grace.

If you sin, you can come to your Advocate for forgiveness – 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

The way to God’s throne remains open now since Christ rose from the dead and the veil in the Temple was torn from top to bottom.

Now through Christ’s amazing sacrifice for our sins, nothing separates us from coming boldly before the throne of God!

Amazing!
