Daily devotion – a change is coming

Pastor Keith   -

Acts 5: 26 Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, 28 saying, “Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man’s blood on us!”
29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

Australia’s Financial Review posted the following information today: “Legal protection allowing private schools to discriminate against students and teachers for their sexual orientation or gender identity should be axed, Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus has been advised.
Workplace relations laws should also be overhauled to allow private schools to preference staff and students of the same faith as the institution to allow them to “build a community” around religious beliefs.”

Each Sunday I urge people to seize every opportunity each week here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour to attend Church when it is open for services. I say this specifically because I believe the time is not too far away when we wish we had heeded this advice. Churches that teach the Bible, that preach the Gospel, will come under increasing pressure eventually by law to not teach certain doctrines as they will be considered – ‘hate speech’ or ‘lacking in tolerance.’

Right now, before our parliament the Religious Discrimination Bill 2021, is being tabled for discussion.

There is a very pointed and concentrated attack as I have stated earlier against Christianity here in Australia. It will not cease until it gets its target!

How fear away will such changes be – earlier than many think!

The early Church came under a similar attack from the Religious Order of the day – ours will be from the section of legal heads that are passionate in their hatred of Christianity – it’s very real!

Peter gave the direction as to what to do back then and his words ring true for Christ’s Church today.

Therefor one more time I urge all believers, head out to Church and prayer  meetings, whenever the opportunity is available. For there is a change coming!
