Daily devotion – the Living God
John 14: 1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Who is Jesus Christ? What have you decided about Him?
Buddha never claimed to be God.
Moses never claimed to be Jehovah.
Mohammed never claimed to be Allah.
Yet Jesus Christ claimed to be the true and living God.
Buddha said, “I am a teacher in search of truth.”
Jesus said, “I am the Truth.”
Confucius said, “I never claimed to be holy.”
Jesus said, “Who convicts Me of sin?”
Mohammed said, “Unless God throws His cloak over me, I have no hope.”
Jesus said, “Unless you believe in Me, you will die in your sins.”
Muslims point with pride to Mecca, where the body of their prophet, Mohammed, is buried.
Followers of Confucius revere the remains of their master, who is buried in an imposing tomb in Shandong, in the People’s Republic of China.
Christianity is the faith of the empty tomb, because Christ is risen and is now seated at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.
We do not worship a dead leader but the living Lord!
This week walk in communion not with a relic, a tomb, or a memory.
But walk with the Living God!
