Daily devotion – The rider on a white horse….

Pastor Keith   -

Revelation 6: 1 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” 2 And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

The current war in Israel has been going since – 7 October 2023 – present (4 months, 3 weeks and 6 days).

A very big issue that may even be more difficult to resolve for Israel as the world watches on is, what happens when the rockets and the battle finishes? What happens in Gaza? How will this most difficult situation of governing this troubled area be sorted?

We know the Rapture can occur at any moment and that until the Church is taken up as Paul describes in 1 Thess 4, that only then can the Antichrist, the first horse rider mentioned here in Revelation 6 can assume his position.

But if ever there was needed a brilliant mind and one able to appease the nation Israel and other nations of the world on the Middle East problem, some one of such charismatic power and political pull, this moment in history could fit the bill!

Somehow this person will need to ‘trusted’ by the nation of Israel as to accept his ‘solution’ to what has been a constant problem. We know that the first horse rider comes on a white horse. Telling us that he initially brings a peace solution. Could it be part of his arrangement to pull enough political strings together to allow Israel to rebuild their Temple on Mt Zion, the Temple Mount?

We are not sure but we know that this conflict in Israel has been a significant catalyst to put some of the main pieces of the puzzle for the antichrist to arrive, on a platform where the world will accept him as a ‘messiah’ of some sort.

The Bible tells us that God has a timing for everything – Ecc 3:1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

The prophet Daniel (chapter 9) told us exactly to the day when Jesus would ride into Jerusalem on what we call “Palm Sunday”.

Paul would remind the Church that we should know the seasons of God’s plans in these Last Days – 1 Thess 5:1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

Could this situation in Israel and Gaza in particular be the problem that only a certain powerful political figure can resolve?

We are not certain but surely it is part of the puzzle. We shall watch and see in the days we ahead.

The focus of the world is now on Israel like never before – let us as Christ’s Church not be caught napping. Let us watch and pray as these coming days unfold before our eyes.

Jesus is coming soon!
