Daily devotion – washing your hands changes nothing….

Pastor Keith   -

Matthew 27: 22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”
They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”
23 Then the governor said, “Why, what evil has He done?”
But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”
24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”

To attempt to curb the stealing of cash from banks, certain banking groups placed a peculiar strong dye packs amongst their money that was triggered to explode if the money was ever stolen.

The dye if released was so strong that it went everywhere and was impossible to wash off!

The name of Pontius Pilate will forever be linked to the final condemnation of the innocent Son of God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, to death by crucifixion.

But the name of Pontius Pilate will also stand forever as the prime example of some one who knew what was right – but failed to do it! He caved into the pressures of the mob and in order to ‘keep the peace’ ordered Jesus’ death.

How often do you cave in also to the pressure of your peers, the crowd, seeking the approval of man, instead of the approval of God?

This Passion Week of Easter, make it your goal to live for Christ and be faithful to Him, regardless of what the crowd demands.

Luk 23:4 So Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I find no fault in this Man.”

Luk 23:23 But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed.
