Daily devotion – no fear for the future…

Pastor Keith   -

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. 14 And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 16 saying, “What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it. 17 But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.”
18 So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. 20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

The world in which we as Christians find ourselves living in 2024 is one that is seeking to close down Christianity. Schools no longer allow Scripture to be taught. The Lord’s prayer is no longer prayed at school assemblies. The definition of what a man or a woman is has been thrown up in the air along with the definition of a family having a man and woman as husband and wife.

The Bible tells us not to be ignorant of three things:

1Co 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:

1Th 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.

2Co 2:11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.

As Christians the Bible is clear of what would be happening in the Last Days. But let us remember that the Early Church faced the same problems as we find ourselves facing today!

Therefore, let us be confident that the Church is aware of what we are heading into and we are also well equipped by God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit, to face the battles that are heading our way.

As did Peter and John, we are to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves and we shall remain faithful to God’s Word no matter what the world seeks to bring against us.

Therefore this week, walk in the confidence of the Lord, the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit.

The battle is the Lords and we know who wins!
