Wednesday 7:00pm – Prayer and Genesis Overview June, 2024
This week at Calvary.
Holy Communion: – Today, we celebrate Holy Communion as the body of Christ here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour. This is a sacred time for reflection and gratitude for the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sunday School Reminder: – Parents, we continually remind our children to be respectful and polite to our blessed Sunday school teachers. If a child breaches these expected behaviors, they will be excused from the class and directed to join their parents. We pray for this not to occur and ask for your assistance in helping our Sunday school teachers proceed with teaching God’s Word to our children with the reverence and diligence it deserves—thank you. Special Guest Speaker: – We are excited to announce that Pastor Jim Stretchberry will be flying direct from Israel to be with us for both services on June 16. Pastor Jim will bring us the latest news from Israel, particularly in relation to the current conflict, and share about the wonderful ministry he is involved in among the people of Israel. Mark your calendars for these services, as Pastor Jim will also be bringing a special gift for us.
Calvary Men: – Don’t forget to sign up for the breakfast with Pastor Jim. This will be a great opportunity for fellowship and to hear more about his ministry.
Calvary Women: – Your next Tuesday morning meeting will be on June 11 here at the Chapel. This is a wonderful chance to join with other godly women from CCSH for Bible study and encouragement. Ministry Opportunities: – Are you in ministry here at CCSH? Seize the blessing and fill in one of our Connection Cards today to become part of the blessed servant team here at CCSH. Serving in ministry is a wonderful way to use your gifts for God’s glory and the edification of the church.
From the Pastors Desk “Embracing Life’s Storms with Faith.” Another storm front is set to hit us this Sunday as we begin our winter season in earnest. Already, we have seen fences broken, people falling ill to COVID, and anything not tied down being blown all over the place. Storms expose anything not tied down or any weaknesses in structures. Similarly, in our walk with God, if we are not growing, we are backsliding. God often uses the storms of life to test our foundations and reveal weaknesses we may not have been aware of. If you find yourself in the midst of a storm in your walk with Christ today, remember that God has allowed it and He is still in control, regardless of how things may appear. We will begin studying the life of Joseph today—a life marked by many storms. Yet, the outcome was miraculous and glorifying to the God of Israel. Embed your life in the Word of God and fellowship with His Church. This is how you can strengthen your life during these times, and God will protect you and watch over you. He will not allow you to face anything you are unable to endure. Stay rooted in faith, trust in God’s plan, and allow His guidance to lead you through life’s storms.
1 Corinthians 10:13 The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
Helen’s Heart
Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. God’s perfect plan for us is GOOD. With this knowledge it makes sense to surrender all to God and thus allow God to work His best in our lives. Can you trust God with your future? We have received the Spirit where we can cry Abba Father. He is our loving dad. Trust Him with all that concerns you.
Grace Giving
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities.
