Daily devotion – Your true identity!
Many people are seeking find their image in their sexual identity – struggling with how they look or are perceived and hearing voices telling them of a very ‘cool’ way to be accepted, be considered ‘out there’ a trendsetter.
But this struggle and search is just not isolated to people of youth – many people in older years find their marriage, their work, their life, even their family, not filling an ache for their own personal identity – just who are they?
Struggling personally with who they are, how people perceive them, what they want to be!
Thank God for the Book of Genesis, the book of beginnings, for in it are found the very important foundational truths of how the world came into being, all the beauty and wonder of it and its flora and fauna, but here in Genesis chapter 1 God reveals our true identity – who we are!
Who you are!
And the answer for you and I is found in the precious Word of God – and our identity is glorious and out of this world!
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;
Why would you seek to find any other identity than to be made in the image of the Creator of all things, the mighty God!
This week rest in who you really are – a child of God made in the image of God.
Do not choose second best – choose the truth and there you will find grace and peace that the world cannot provide!
