Daily devotion – a new week.

Pastor Keith   -

Psa 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Monday morning, a new week, what did God speak to me about on Sunday and what am I to work on this week in regard to my walk with the Lord? These are the common questions and thoughts that all of us confront each new week that God has blessed us to walk in.

Many people have a walk with God that is more like an elevator shaft. It goes up and down constantly. What God desires for us is to have a consistent and growing maturity that is developing steady and strong.

This is why the Psalmist speaks to us as God guiding our steps. Today you can have your steps numbered by your phone or smart watch telling you just how many you have taken.

God desires that each step we take be in His will and according to His Word in obedience. With the aim to having Him direct our path, who we speak to, decisions we make, prayers we pray. It’s a slow and steady pace. But it is also a constant growth!

C.H Spurgeon has this great quote about a snail and the Ark that Noah built prior to the flood – “By perseverance the snail reached the ark.” ― Charles Spurgeon.

We live in a busy world that seeks to have you jump on its merry go round and live at its pace.

But God wants to control our lives and not have the world dictating to us the lifestyle we are to live and the pace of it.

Put God’s Word first, your obedience and worship of Him as your priority, and He will control your life to His pace.

Psa 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

This then allows the peace of God to truly overshadow your life and though the world will be in a hectic spin around you, your life and walk with Him will remain steady and strong.

Enjoy walking with the Lord this week!
