Daily devotion – God who never rests!
Psa 121:4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
Do you ever think that God is not doing anything about your prayers? You see no evidence of change or shift in the situation you have been bringing to Him for some time?
God never stops listening to our prayers or setting about to answer them.
For three weeks Daniel had been praying without seeing any answer to his prayer when all of a sudden an angel of the Lord appears with the answer to Daniel’s prayer and the reason why it had taken three weeks – Dan 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
We find also in the book of Habakkuk a time when the prophet complained to God that He was not doing anything about the situation Israel was in and what the prophet was experiencing personally – Habakkuk 1: 2 How long, O LORD, must I call for help? But you do not listen!
5 The LORD replied, “Look around at the nations; look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe.
All throughout Scripture we read of God working and working behind the scenes for His people and His plans for them.
This week as you pray once more about your situation, know full well that God is listening, and He is working on bringing about the answer to your problem. But it will occur in His time and in His way. You do not need to see things happening to know that God is answering and working on your prayers!
Heb 11:1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
When the Bible tells us to live by faith it means for us to trust that God is at work in your life!
