Daily devotion – the greatest miracle of all.
I love to see God working in the miraculous as much as anybody else. However, the miraculous is not what we focus on. We focus on the Gospel, the Word of God and then leave the miraculous in the hands of God rightfully where they should sit.
Many people go chasing the gift and miss the Giver and it is a sign of an immature walk with God when we get these in the wrong order.
Jesus has been healing many in Capernaum and miracles were happening in that fishing town. But notice what Jesus does the next day after so many miracles have occurred.
Mark 1: 32 At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to Him all who were sick and those who were demon-possessed. 33 And the whole city was gathered together at the door. 34 Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him.
(Matt. 4:23–25; Luke 4:42–44 )
35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. 36 And Simon and those who were with Him searched for Him. 37 When they found Him, they said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.”
The sabbath ended and the people came….Jesus healed them all!
Jesus ministered until very late in the evening – but next morning early – Jesus is with the Father in prayer!
Isaiah 50:4 tells us that God’s righteous Servant, Jesus, meets with the Father, morning by morning!
Want to see God move in power in your life, in your family, in your children, your marriage, this Church?
38 But He said to them, “Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also, because for this purpose I have come forth.”
Jesus moves to the next town to preach and minister – the town folk wanted more miracles – another show – but Jesus said it was MORE important to preach the Gospel in other places than to stay in Capernaum and heal the sick!
Jesus was on His Father’s timetable and plans and not bowing to simple popular acclaim!
As I said in the beginning, I love to see God move in the miraculous, but I will leave how, when and the why of that in His hands and will.
It’s of little use to see the miraculous if souls still remained lost and separated from God by sin.
Let us remember that the greatest miracle of all, is the salvation of a lost sinner, washed and cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and their life being born again!
