This week at Calvary.

This morning we have the privilege of celebrating Holy Communion together! Jesus asked that every time the Church had communion that we would ‘remember Him’. Parents, we again leave it to your guidance and wisdom, as to the extent your young ones take part in this blessed time. Calvary Women, this Tuesday at 9:30am here at the chapel is your special time of study, prayer, and fellowship. Next Sunday we will be showing a short video clip to encourage us all to be part of Operation Christmas Child again this year. This ministry provides a beautiful opportunity to bring the blessing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and some Christmas gift joy to children who otherwise would not experience any of this. If you need prayer or would like to know how to become a follower of Christ, please see one of the Pastors or Elders who will be available at the front of the chapel straight after each service. We request that there be no moving from your seat during the teaching of God’s Word please. If you must leave your seat the ushers will direct, you on your return to a seat at the rear of the chapel so not to distract from God’s Word – thank you.

Finding Joy and Peace in a Troubled World – In today’s world, many people struggle with depression and anxiety, often finding little joy in their daily lives. For those without Christ, life can seem like a constant barrage of bad news and troubling situations, with fear and tragedy dominating our news feeds and social media. It’s no wonder that so many feel overwhelmed and hopeless. However, as believers in Christ, we have a promise of abundant life and indescribable joy. How is this possible amidst the chaos around us? The answer lies in the transformative power of Christ’s death and resurrection. Through His sacrifice, we are forgiven for our sins and freed from guilt and shame. Additionally, we are filled with the Holy Spirit, equipping us with strength and hope. One of the greatest tools we have to combat depression and anxiety is the Word of God. The Bible serves as God’s communication channel, offering us His truth and perspective. If a believer neglects the Word and consumes only the negative news of the world, they, too, are likely to become anxious and despondent. But when we feast on the Bread of Life, God fills us with His truth, reminding us that He is in control and that our circumstances are not as bleak as they appear. Consider this: if you stopped eating or only ate sporadically, you would quickly fall ill. Similarly, your soul requires nourishment to thrive. When we feed our spirits with the solid food of God’s Word, we become strong, healthy, and filled with grace and peace. Let us make it a priority to immerse ourselves in God’s Word daily, allowing His promises and assurances to guide us. In doing so, we find the strength to face each day with hope and joy, knowing that God is with us and that He has a plan for our lives. Embrace the joy and peace that comes from a deep and abiding relationship with Christ, and let His love fill your heart and mind.

Helen’s Heart Come to Me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest…for My yoke is easy and My burden is light – Matthew 11:28-30. We can work hard at facing a problem and it can all end in disappointment, disillusionment, and exhaustion. It can be tempting to give up, quit. Churchill said, “Wars are not won by evacuations.” To quit, escape, to hide solves nothing. God has offered a wonderful trade …His yoke which is easy in exchange for our heavy load. Turn to Him and REST in Him.

Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities. Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.

Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
Each month CCSH sends $500 to CC Nasinu for the work of God in Fiji. But finances are not as important as our prayers for this fledgling work. Please continue to hold this small fellowship and Ps Charles in your prayers.

We should sit at the communion as easily as we possibly can, — as we would at our own table, because “we which have believed do enter into rest;” – C.H. Spurgeon
