Daily devotion – Australia’s terror threat increased.
Australia is no longer protected by its distance from the rest of the world!
“The country’s top spy agency has raised the national terrorism threat level to “probable” for the first time since 2022 over a heightening of radical political and religious ideologies and eight recent alleged terrorist incidents on our shores.
Intelligence sources said the combination of threats had given rise to a more heated security environment, making a lone-wolf or small terror cell attack on our shores – likely to be executed with easy-to-access weapons and simple tactics – more likely.
ASIO has either intercepted or responded to eight alleged terrorist attacks since April, the sources said. These included the Wakeley church stabbing in western Sydney, when a bishop was stabbed during a sermon that was being live-streamed on social media.
The protest movement over the war in Gaza is a significant factor in the terror threat upgrade, a source said, as it had normalised intimidatory, anti-authority and violent acts as a form of legitimate protest”. – Sydney Morning Herald – Monday 5th August 2024.
As we read this latest update from our government, as Christians living in the Last Days here in Australia, we are well aware that our world certainly has changed forever.
We have security methods in plan at our services but we will have to ‘beef up’ and revisit all gatherings here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour.
We are living in the lead up to some significant Biblical events that previously were some time away. The rapture of the Church was something that the early Church expected and lived for each day from its inception. However certain events in Israel, the Promised Land, needed to occur firstly before this amazing prophecy could happen.
In particular, Israel’s reforming as a sovereign nation in May 14th, 1948, was probably the most significant in setting the calendar alight.
But following closely on the rapture of the Church will be the beginning of the seven year tribulation period whereby a Christ rejecting world will welcome to its throne the antichrist who will rule our current world with the power of Satan personally empowering him and the false prophet who will partner him in this most wicked of all dominions.
Each week as we gather and study God’s Word, we make the offering and opportunity for those who yet do not know Christ or those who have walked away from Him to come and repent and be reconciled to the King of Kings and the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ the Son of God. But our nets are not overflowing with souls.
The time is growing increasingly late in this period of God’s grace and soon changes will occur on this planet that the world has never experienced. Jesus said unless these days were speaking about were shortened…no flesh would be saved!
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
Let not our hearts be filled with fear as we see the terror threat raised – instead let our hearts be filled with fervour to serve our Lord with a greater passion than we have ever before.
Parents, you have a mission that is most important with your children – pray for them and with them and ensure that each one of them is walking as you are, with their Lord Jesus Christ.
Make every day that God gives you a day of prayer, of sharing the Gospel, whilst we have the opportunity to do so – for the time is growing increasingly shorter!
