Daily devotion – delighting our Lord
There are times when we are buying a gift for people who are hard to buy for. That is, they have everything already.
For example, how would you buy a gift for King Charles?
Proverbs 15:8-9
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But the prayer of the upright is His delight.
The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD,
But He loves him who follows righteousness.
We can actually bring delight to our Lord this week by taking time to pray to Him. The writer of proverbs tells us when we do this it brings God great delight. Could it be similar to that of a child taking time to converse with dad or mum, a conversation that is not one of simply asking for something!
But behind this delight is a believer who loves to pursue a life if righteousness, one who seeks in their daily living to be obedient in all that God would have them to do. This prayer and obedient living is a beautiful combination in the eyes of the Lord and brings Him great delight!
Let us therefore seek to bring great delight to our precious Lord by taking time to pray with Him and by pursuing righteousness in how we live.
To bring delight to Him who saved us must be the most wonderful of things we can do each day!
May you bring delight to Christ today and the rest of this week.
