Psa 25:7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.
One of the most difficult things as a believer to deal with is that we cannot go back and undo the sinful and foolish things of our past. What’s done is done!
When we have made a wrong decision or acted foolishly, we have to live with the consequences – the scars of the past. We as too everyone else reap what we have sown.
Then why do we bother to ask for God’s forgiveness? One reason is because it is the only way to deal with our guilt. For deep down inside of us we feel unclean and ashamed at what we have done – but when we turn to Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord and seek His forgiveness, our burden of guilt is lifted.
The power and wonder of Christ’s innocent blood that paid for all of our sins sets us free.
Jhn 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Jhn 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
This is why Paul and Silas, even though they were in shackles and locks in prison, could sing with joy of the wonder of God’s grace and forgiveness!
Sing this week about your freedom – its a gift from Christ Himself just for you!
