Daily devotion – Persia – modern day Iran.
The Times of Israel – “Israel is braced for potential attacks by Iran and Hezbollah in the coming days, and assesses that assaults could come from several fronts, Hebrew media reported Saturday.
The US is scrambling to revive a regional coalition that earlier this year succeeded in almost entirely thwarting a previous direct Iranian attack on Israel, reports said, while Israeli officials concede that this time around there may be damage and casualties.
An Iranian attack could come as soon as Monday, according to the Axios website that cited US and Israeli officials.” 4th August.
“US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has warned that Iran and Hezbollah may attack Israel within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The unconfirmed report from US publication Axios was released on Monday, as fears grew of a regional war in the Middle East. Iran and Hezbollah have pledged to retaliate for the killing of the top leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah last week.” –
The situation in Israel is not going away and Iran has been deeply embedded behind the scenes all along but now is openly showing its stand against Israel. – “Iran and Hezbollah attack on Israel imminent, Blinken tells G7.” – Aljarzeera news.
Iran is one of the key nations that will form part of the combined attacking forces as prophesied by Ezekiel in chapter 38: 1 This is another message that came to me from the LORD: 2 “Son of man, turn and face Gog of the land of Magog, the prince who rules over the nations of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him. 3 Give him this message from the Sovereign LORD: Gog, I am your enemy! 4 I will turn you around and put hooks in your jaws to lead you out with your whole army—your horses and charioteers in full armor and a great horde armed with shields and swords. 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya will join you, too, with all their weapons. 6 Gomer and all its armies will also join you, along with the armies of Beth-togarmah from the distant north, and many others.

What is amazing for you and I today as believers is that we can see events and the players in Bible prophecy being moved into place by God, set to go when His timing demands it.
In Psalm 2, we read of how God is in control of all the nations and will deal with them as He wills –
1 Why are the nations so angry? Why do they waste their time with futile plans?
2 The kings of the earth prepare for battle; the rulers plot together against the LORD
and against his anointed one. 3 “Let us break their chains,” they cry, “and free ourselves from slavery to God.” 4 But the one who rules in heaven laughs.5 Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury.
6 For the Lord declares, “I have placed my chosen king on the throne in Jerusalem, on my holy mountain.”
Let us again turn to Jesus words with all that is happening on the world scene.
Luk 21:28 “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
As one grows older in their walk with the Lord hopefully, we grow wiser and cast aside things that aren’t as important to us as before – Heb 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Peace, patience, and hope should now fill our hearts for the Bible and all it has detailed about the time in which we live is coming alive daily before our eyes.
We are closing in on the time for the Church and its mission to be taken over by Israel, the Church to be Raptured and then the full focus of world events will become even sharper on the nation and people of Israel.
Luke 21: 29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. 32 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Today is the day of salvation!
