Upcoming Events Father’s Day Service – Sunday, 1st September: Next Sunday is ourspecial Father’s Day service. From the Pastors Desk. It sounds like the situation in Israel is truly intense and heartbreaking. The update from Pastor James about the Bethel Mission team highlights the gravity of the circumstances, particularly with the nation grieving over the tragic loss of 12 children. The sense of imminent threat from Iran is deeply troubling, and it’s clear that Israel is preparing for the possibility of a significant escalation. Pastor James’s description of the situation as “crazy” emphasizes just how precarious things are.
It’s comforting to know that, despite the turmoil, Pastor James is still committed to his mission work and hopes to return in November, depending on how things develop. His dedication to the people of Israel is inspiring, and it’s crucial that we stand in prayerful support during these challenging times. Here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour, we must continue to pray fervently for the peace of Jerusalem and seek God’s wisdom in how we can best support the efforts in Israel. As Pastor James shares specific ways, we can assist, let’s be ready to respond with open hearts and hands. Jesus’s words in Mark 13:28-37 remind us to stay vigilant and alert, especially as we witness prophetic events unfolding in our time. Let’s not be caught off guard but rather be spiritually prepared, supporting our brothers and sisters in Israel, and sharing the hope of Christ in these tumultuous days. May we continue to lift up Israel in prayer, trusting in God’s sovereignty and His plan for His chosen people.
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji Your prayers for Ps Charles and his family will sustain him when things are tough and when the enemy comes against him as he seeks to preach God’s Word in Fiji. May we always have his back and be his support in the spiritual battlefield the Lord has placed him.
Helen’s Heart – After three days I will rise – What wonderful words of hope these words are. Pilate, the priests, and the Pharisees tried to curtail the power and plans of God. Jesus had already told Pilate he had no power over Him except the Father allowed it and when they came to the garden with swords and clubs, Jesus informed them that He could ask His Father and twelve legions of angels would be provided. Through these statements Jesus was affirming who He is, the all-powerful God. They could no more stop Jesus rising from the dead as they could prevent Jesus from going to the Cross. This was God’s plan for your and my salvation. What hope we have in the resurrection power. I have come that they may have life – John 16:14a
