Reverence During Service
In reverence to the Lord and His Word, we kindly ask for your cooperation in maintaining an atmosphere of worship and focus during our services. To minimize distractions and to honor the time of reflection, we request that you remain in your seat once the service has commenced. The only exception to this is for parents who may need to respond to signals from the creche regarding their children. Otherwise, we ask that you please wait until the close of the service before leaving. This allows everyone to fully engage with the message God has for them and to reflect on it without interruption.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping to create a worshipful environment for all.

This week at Calvary.:Ladies Bible Study – This Tuesday at 9:30am here at the Chapel, we invite all women to join us for a special time of studying God’s Word, prayer, encouragement, and fellowship. This is a wonderful opportunity to grow in your faith alongside other women of the Church. Childcare will be available, so feel free to bring your little ones. Why not invite a friend to come along with you this week? Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth – Our youth and kids ministries will be meeting this Friday! It’s a great opportunity for your children to grow in their faith, make new friends, and have fun in a safe, Christ-centered environment. We encourage all parents to get their kids involved in these life-impacting ministries. Church Spring Cleaning and Breakfast – We are planning a Church Spring Cleaning morning and breakfast in October. This will be a wonderful chance to serve together as we clean and prepare God’s house, followed by a shared meal. More details will be provided soon, so stay tuned! Remember Our Persecuted Brothers and Sisters – Every 5 minutes, a Christian somewhere in the world is martyred for their faith. Let us never forget that we are part of a spiritual battle, and the conflict is very real. Need Prayer or Want to Receive Christ? – If you need prayer today, or if you are ready to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, or perhaps you feel led to rededicate your life to Him, our pastors and elders will be available after each service. Don’t hesitate to come forward—we would love to pray with you. Serving Opportunities at CCSH – Is God calling you to serve here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour? Whether it’s helping in a ministry or serving behind the scenes, there’s a place for you. Fill out a Connection Card and place it in the offering box. Let us pray that God will use you as a blessing to this Church family. Operation Christmas Child – It’s time to prepare and submit your shoebox for Operation Christmas Child! This ministry brings the hope and joy of the Gospel to children around the world who don’t yet know the Lord. Please make sure to bring your shoeboxes early this year so we can send them off in time. What a beautiful way to share the love of Christ with those in need. Remember, Christmas is just 108 days away!

From the Pastors DeskThe grace extended to us by Jesus Christ came at a great cost—His own life, His suffering, and His death on the cross. This was no light sacrifice, and we must never treat it as such by making light of sin in our lives. As believers, we recognize the tension that exists between the new life we have in Christ and the old sinful nature that still lingers. While Christ’s Spirit lives in us, enabling us to grow in holiness, we also face the constant temptation of sin. The apostle Paul expressed this very struggle in Romans 7, where he described the battle between doing what is right and being pulled back by the sinful nature. But here’s the key: the presence of sin should never lead us to complacency. Though we will not reach sinless perfection in this life, we are called to pursue it continually. Jesus Himself called us to strive for holiness when He said, “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). This doesn’t mean we achieve sinlessness, but it means we aim to live a life fully submitted to God’s will. To sin with the intention of seeking forgiveness afterward without a heart of repentance is to abuse grace and to cheapen the sacrifice of Jesus. This is what Dietrich Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace,” which is the grace we claim without true repentance, without discipleship, and without the cross. True grace is costly because it calls us to change—to leave behind our old ways and take up our cross daily in the battle against sin. Repentance is not simply feeling sorry or guilty for sin. It is the deep, sincere turning away from sin and turning toward Christ. When we truly repent, we are acknowledging the gravity of sin and the cost Christ paid for our redemption. Repentance is accompanied by a desire to change, to seek God’s strength to live in righteousness, and to walk in obedience. God’s will is for each of us to become more like Christ in every area of our lives—in purity, by fleeing from sin and living lives that reflect the holiness of God; in love, by seeking the good of others and walking in humility and selflessness; and in service, by giving of ourselves to glorify God and build up His Kingdom. This process of becoming more like Christ is known as sanctification. It’s a lifelong journey in which we partner with God’s Spirit to transform us from the inside out. As we grow in sanctification, we will notice more and more victory over sin. But it’s not something we achieve on our own. It is God’s grace and power working within us to will and to act according to His good purpose (Philippians 2:13). So, let us never take for granted the amazing grace that has been given to us. Let us not approach sin lightly but battle it with all our might, knowing that our pursuit of holiness honors the sacrifice of Christ. We are not expected to be perfect, but we are called to pursue perfection as we walk in grace, growing in the likeness of our Savior.

Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
Pastor Israel yesterday taught a group of people from differing denominations and will be teaching at CC Nasinu today! We pray God’s blessing on these times as we look forward to seeing God save more souls throughout greater Fiji and all the islands surrounding it.

Helen’s Heart1 Corinthians 2:9 – “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Discouragement, fear, distress can rob us of all God wants for us. When we allow it to take over, we settle for rummaging through the garbage of life. Instead, we need to look up, open our mouths wide and allow God to fill us with His bountiful blessings. Lord be multiplied – Jude 2

“Your emptiness is but the preparation for your being filled, and your casting down is but the making ready for your lifting up.”
― Charles H. Spurgeon
