This week at Calvary –
Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour! We’re so glad you’re here with us today. At CCSH, our mission is simple: to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the teaching of God’s Word. Our heart’s desire is to see the lost come to repentance, moved by the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and to experience the freedom that comes from having their sins completely forgiven through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary.
As the Bible commands in Acts 17:30, “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent.” If you’re here today and you’re unsure whether your sins have been forgiven or if you’ve never invited Christ to be your Lord and Saviour, we encourage you to take that step today. After the service, our pastors and elders will be available at the front of the sanctuary to pray with you and to guide you in making that life-changing decision.
We also encourage you to stay connected with us throughout the week. We offer daily devotions that align with the passages of Scripture we’re currently studying. These devotions are designed to help you deepen your understanding of God’s Word and to support your personal time with the Lord, even in the midst of busy schedules. To receive the daily devotions directly to your device, please visit our website at ccsh.com.au and follow the instructions. There, you can also sign up to receive our weekly bulletin, which keeps you informed of all our services, events, and any important updates.
We produce this bulletin to minimize distractions during our services, so we can focus on what we believe is the most important aspect of our time together—the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.
And note—Christmas is only 101 days away! It’s always a special season, and we’re looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Saviour with you in the weeks ahead.
Thank you again for joining us at CCSH today. Let’s prepare our hearts as we dive into God’s Word!
From the Pastors Desk
The eyes of the world watched on this week as the United States presidential election debate occurred between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The outcome will be decided in the United States this November. In Melbourne this past week Wednesday the 11th, violence broke out in the streets again instigated by pro-Palestinian supporters just days after another 6 Jewish Hostages were found dead having been starved and shot dead. Our Foreign Minister Penny Wong also this week endorsed the United Kingdom’s curtailing of sending arms support to Israel in a move which is directly again the nation of Israel in their struggle to survive. In Mark’s Gospel we noticed as Jesus healed a mute and deaf man followed by a blind man, on both occasions’ a set of eyes went to Heaven as the means of divine support. Firstly, by Jesus Himself and then by the blind man. Let us with all the commotion that passes by our vision of the world ensure we place our eyes on Heaven and not on the violent melting pot of our current world. The Apostle Peter when he stepped out of the boat to walk on the water to Jesus was successful, until He took His eyes off the Lord and looked down at the waves. Keep your eyes on the Lord! Mat 14:30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
It’s always the right time to pray!
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji
Pastor Israel and April are back from Nasinu and will be sharing with us what is happening in the work there overseen by Pastor Charles, Tina and their children. One thing that was very evident is that Pastor Charles is working relentlessly to proclaim the Gospel throughout Nasinu and greater Fiji. Let us continue to support them with prayer as they faithfully toil in proclaiming the Gospel of Christ in this blessed mission field.
Helen’s Heart –
But in the day of adversity, consider – God has made the one as well as the other – Ecc 7:13 When we are enduring days of stress – wisdom allows us to evaluate with objectivity. God wants us to walk by faith, not by what we see or feel. He has a perfect plan. We need to trust Him and not be afraid.
