Daily devotion – God is with us!
Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Hebrews 13:5 “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Have you ever paused to truly reflect on what these two Scriptures reveal about us never being alone?
Loneliness is a painful condition that many experience in this fallen, sinful world. Even King Solomon, the richest, wisest, and most intelligent man to ever live—apart from Christ—explored every avenue of fulfillment the world had to offer. He reached for power, fame, relationships, and great wealth, leaving nothing untouched. Yet, at the end of it all, his conclusion was striking:
Ecclesiastes 1:2 “Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.”
And in Ecclesiastes 12:13, he summed up the entire purpose of life: “Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”
As Christians, we are never truly alone. No matter where we go or what we face, we are always accompanied by the One who promised, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). And this isn’t just a nice thought—it’s the reality that Almighty God Himself is with us at all times.
Take a moment to truly ponder that truth. Right now, as I write these words, God is with me. And as you read them, God is with you.
In the storms of life, in the trials, in the moments of victory, and in the quiet, seemingly mundane moments—He is there. Emmanuel, “God with us,” is not a distant or abstract concept, but a living and active presence in our lives.
This is the reality that should fill our hearts with joy and thanksgiving. No matter what we are facing today or tomorrow, we can rest in the assurance that God is with us. We are never alone.
Rejoice in that wonderful truth today!
