This week at Calvary
This morning, as we gather together to celebrate communion, we remember the great sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross—His body broken for us, and His blood shed for the forgiveness of our sins. Communion reminds us not only of His love but also of the unity we share as His body, the Church. Let’s take this time to reflect on His grace and the hope we have in Him, drawing near to the table of the Lord with hearts of gratitude and humility. Calvary Men – Save the Date! We are excited to announce our next Men’s Night here at CCSH: Event: “Strength in the Journey: Finding Hope and Encouragement as Men of Faith” Date: Friday, 18th October 2024 Location: CCSH – Outdoor patio entrance It will be a special time of fellowship, encouragement, and sharpening one another in our walks with the Lord. We hope you can join us as we gather to grow in strength and faith, supporting one another as brothers in Christ. Prayer Ministry at CCSH –

If you are in need of prayer, know that our pastors and elders are available to pray with you after every service. Praying for Israel and Our Nation Let’s continue to pray fervently for the people of Israel as the conflict now extends further in the north with the battle against Hezbollah. We know the urgency of the situation and the toll it takes on many lives. As believers, we stand with Israel and lift them up in prayer during this time of conflict. We look forward to gathering with you today for a powerful time of communion, worship, and prayer.
Helen’s Heart I wait for You o Lord, You will answer – Psalm 38:15 God speaks to us more than we realize. Throughout the day we may feel a steady, gentle pressure on our heart or mind. It may be when about to utter a word, there is a check or a conviction not to go in a certain direction. The more we obey that still small voice the more we learn to trust God that He ‘makes all things work together’. We learn to trust Him even when we move in dark circumstances. This is true fellowship with God. “Wait, I say, on the Lord.”
From the Pastors Desk As we approach October 7th, a significant day of remembrance of the horrific Hamas attack on Israel, it’s crucial to come together in prayer, standing in faith and unity against the forces of darkness. The planned protests, which celebrate violence and the glorification of evil, stand in opposition to the principles of peace and justice that God calls us to uphold. As the Church of Christ, we are called not just to observe but to engage in spiritual warfare through prayer. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that we are in a spiritual battle, not against people, but against the principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness. Our prayers have divine power to pull down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4), and by coming together in prayer, we can make a profound impact on the spiritual realm, disrupting the plans of the enemy. Let’s remember James 4:7, where we are called to submit to God, resist the devil, and know that he will flee from us. Prayer is not passive; it is an act of resistance and submission to God’s authority. On this day of significance, let us commit to: Praying for Israel: For peace, protection, and the wisdom of their leaders as they navigate these challenging times. Praying for those deceived: That God would open the eyes of those celebrating violence and hatred, transforming hearts and minds. Praying for the Church: That we may rise in unity, fervor, and faithfulness to fulfill our role as intercessors and soldiers of Christ. Praying for our nation and its leaders: That they may have wisdom and discernment to stand for righteousness. Let tomorrow be a day where our collective voices rise to heaven, seeking God’s intervention, trusting in His sovereignty, and affirming our role in this spiritual battle. Our prayers matter, and through them, we can see strongholds broken and peace restored. God bless you as we join together in this mission.
