In reverence to the Lord and His Word, we kindly ask for your cooperation in maintaining an atmosphere of worship and focus during our services. To minimize distractions and to honor the time of reflection, we request that you remain in your seat once the service has commenced. The only exception to this is for parents who may need to respond to signals from the creche regarding their children. Otherwise, we ask that you please wait until the close of the service before leaving. This allows everyone to fully engage with the message God has for them and to reflect on it without interruption.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping to create a worshipful environment for all.
This week at Calvary
Join us this Wednesday here at the chapel for a time of study, communion, and prayer starting at 7:00pm. This Friday is its time for both the Calvary Kids and Calvary Youth to gather to encourage the young ones and teens in their walk with God. Last Friday the Calvary Men gathered for worship, teaching, prayer, fellowship, and testimony. We want to encourage those of you who missed this blessed gathering of godly men to be sure to join us on our next gathering. Even though the finish time was 8:30pm most men did not leave until another hour later. Our Spring-Cleaning Day will be on Saturday the 9th of November starting at 8:00am. Book it in your diary! Christmas is just 9 weeks, or 66 days. We will be having our special Christmas Eve service Tuesday 6:00pm. Another date to pencil in not to miss! Our media team have vacancies for our Wednesday evening service. See Pastor Marlon to become a part of this important servant group and ministry. Remember to download the daily devotions each day as we utilise them for our studies through the Gospel of Mark as an additional teaching tool. Please continue to remember to pray at home with us each Wednesday if you are unable to join us at 7:30pm.
If you would like to know how to become a Christian today, please see one of our pastors or elders directly after the service and we will go through the Bible with you, pray with you help you to receive Christ today! If you would like prayer for any other matter the pastors and elders are available to pray with you.
Helen’s Heart
How precious are Your thoughts to me O God. How great is the sum of them – Psalm 139:17 I watch the birds as they feed and drink from our water fountains. They happily flit from the branches of our bottlebrush and feed off the seeds we have provided for them and then they take a drink and bathe in the water. Matthew tells us to look to them and points out we are of far greater value. As we pray and trust God we too can bask in His provision and love for us!
“Backsliding begins with dusty Bibles” C.H. Spurgeon.
From the Pastors Desk Mark 12:41-44 The widows two mites. There were 13 trumpet shaped chests around the walls of the court of women, and it was in these vessels that the people dropped in their offerings. The rich always made a great show in their giving – Matt 6:1-4. But Jesus rejected them and their offerings! It is NOT the portion but the proportion that is important: the rich gave out of their abundance, but Jesus saw this poor widow give all that she had. For the rich, their gifts were a small contribution, but for the widow, her gift was true consecration of her whole life! I find it interesting that Jesus takes note of how we give and not so much what we give. No husband, all she possessed she gave. Little did she know Jesus was watching. Two thousand years later her giving is still being blessed by God. The true value of a gift is only measured by the sacrifice it occasions. May we learn from this widow, and may Jesus be just as happy with us as He watches when we give!
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji We spoke to Ps Charles this week and he thanked us for sending Ps Israel and April over to visit with them. Please pray for him as he deals with some internal family situations that will be difficult. Also pray for him as he is one of the guest speakers at the Brethren Church Conference.
