Daily devotion – boldness!
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
On Sunday we read of the veil of the Temple being torn from top to bottom, as a massive earthquake shook all of Jerusalem, after Christ breathed His last breath and committed Himself into His Father’s hands.
Up until that time, no common person was permitted to enter the holy precepts of the tabernacle and the temple, and the priests got only as far as the veil!
The high priest alone went beyond the veil, and only on the Day of Atonement – Leviticus 16.
But NOW every believer is invited, and is even encouraged, to ‘come boldly into the throne of grace!’
Our entrance, our boldness has nothing whatsoever to do with ourselves or our achievements. But our boldness, our confidence to do so, is because we know, we believe and we understand, the wonder of the work that Christ did for us on the Cross at Calvary.
Our boldness is our declaration of knowing the TRUTH of His powerful work in paying for our sins and thus placing His righteousness upon us. Our boldness is in Jesus work!
Therefore, we can come boldly into the presence of God and also KNOW that at the throne of God we will, without doubt, without conjecture, receive the grace of God to help us in time of need.
And this grace WILL help us for sure and certain!
The way is now open for us forever!
