Daily devotion – a new week ahead
Isa 46:9
Remember the things I have done in the past.
For I alone am God!
I am God, and there is none like me.
Isa 46:10
Only I can tell you the future
before it even happens.
Everything I plan will come to pass,
for I do whatever I wish.
Sunday afternoon after Church, preparing for Sunday night service, our minds look to the new week we are about to enter. What lays ahead for us? Will there be victories, battles or sorrows? We do not know but also as believers we do not fear. For we know that God knows what awaits ahead us and it is He that leads us into this new venture of hours.
I love praying with Helen for the days ahead knowing that God has gone before us already and prepared the way!
In Exodus 23 God speaks to the children of Israel how He has gone ahead of them in their journey and sorted all things ahead!
20 “See, I am sending an angel before you to protect you on your journey and lead you safely to the place I have prepared for you. 21 Pay close attention to him, and obey his instructions. Do not rebel against him, for he is my representative, and he will not forgive your rebellion. 22 But if you are careful to obey him, following all my instructions, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and I will oppose those who oppose you. 23 For my angel will go before you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, so you may live there.
Whatever lays ahead of this week we need not worry, God knows, and He has prepared all for us. We may be heading into stormy seas, but we are confident that Christ who knows this has and will enable us to faithfully traverse whatever struggles we may face.
But let us not take this blessing for granted. Let us pray and ask God to go before us and to strengthen us for the journey ahead!
Psalm 23: 2 He leads me beside the still waters.
Psalm 23: 3 He leads me in the paths of righteousness
Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
God is so good to us and He watches over His children in every step they make! Even those on paths we have yet to tread.
Walk into this new week in the confidence of the Lord!
