This week at Calvary Chapel
Welcome today to our last Sunday services for the year of 2024. What does God have in store for us in 2025? Beginning next Sunday for both am and pm services, we have as our guest speaker Pastor Chris Fisher from Calvary Chapel Albany who will be teaching God’s Word to us. Also, we celebrate our first communion service next Sunday morning for the New Year. Just a reminder that our next Wednesday evening bible teaching and prayer gathering will be on January the 8th here at the chapel. Tonight, Pastor Israel will be bringing a special end of year message, so we encourage you to join with us here at 6:00 pm! Commencing Sunday January 12, we launch into two new Bible series – the Book of Joshua Sunday am and 1 Corinthians Sunday PM. Time to read ahead in both of these amazing books so that you are prepared and ready!
This New Year 2025 – offers you the opportunity to be part of our prayer team and our servant team here at CCSH. Make a commitment to be a blessing to the body of Christ here for the coming New Year.

Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. CLUB JESUS!
Pastor’s Pen 1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Many Australian believers at this time of the holiday season play a very dangerous game. They go on holidays from God as well as taking work vacation. Whilst on vacation, Church attendance, fellowship, Bible reading, prayer and living godly before the Lord, all seem to drop away significantly. It is as if Christianity was a club that went on break at Christmas and holiday time. The two verses before this devotion detail that Satan takes no time off from trying to destroy you, your walk with God and your family. When families take a break from God you are at your most vulnerable! In addition, your children learn that God is NOT someone you serve and love each and every day of your life. You turn Christianity into a religion when you go on holidays from God. You are declaring you don’t need Him at this time, and you will meet back with Him once you are finished with your holiday break. Once the Club is open again! Be careful, examine yourself and don’t treat Christ as some sort of club you belong to and your involvement with it is seasonal!
Helen’s Heart
Psa 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
How vital it is that we pray knowing that God is in Heaven and He rules over all. Any lesser conviction dilutes our prayers to shallow and hollow. Spend time, as we close this year, walking through what God has done for you in 2024, and your prayer time will be energized for the coming New Year. Let us pray for the Spirit of prayer, the power to capture strongholds and make the impossible possible. For “with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26
More than a year on from the Hamas-led attacks on Israel, a total of 96 hostages remain unaccounted for. According to Israel, 251 Israelis and foreigners were taken on 7 October 2023.
