This week at Calvary Chapel Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour! If you are visiting with us this morning and would like to know how to become a Christian, the pastors and elders will be available to meet and pray with you directly after the service at the front of the sanctuary. Today’s Services – This morning, we continue our study in the Book of Joshua.
This evening, Pastor Israel will commence a new series in the Book of 1 Corinthians.
We encourage you to read ahead as we journey through these two incredible books of the Bible. Together, they will strengthen your walk with God as we step into 2025.
Upcoming Ministries – Calvary Youth and the Calvary Ladies Tuesday Studies will recommence when schools return in February. Prayer Team We invite you to join our prayer team, which meets before the morning service in Classroom #1. This prayer time is critically important to the work of God here at CCSH. We are glad you are here with us today and look forward to worshipping and growing in God’s Word together!

Helen’s Heart  “This thing is from Me – 1 Kings 12:24”
When temptation and “the enemy come in like a flood”, God allows this that our weakness sees God’s might. When difficult circumstances arise, God uses it to see His power at work. Have you money difficulties, struggling to make ends meet? God wants you to depend on Him whose supplies are limitless (Philippians 4:19). Are you travelling through sorrow? – ‘the Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief’, will comfort you and encourage you and make you strong (2 Thess 2:16). Do you long to do a great work for God but instead have been laid up in a bed of pain and weakness? – It is there for you to wield the weapon of prayer. Every circumstance, every interruption, every weakness is anointed with this learning that we see His loving hand in all things!

Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji As we gather this Sunday, take a moment to view the slide that shows the Church in Fiji – take note of the people sitting on the floor, Bibles in hand. Please now take time to pray for them and ask God to grow His Church in Nasinu!

Grace Giving 2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. We encourage all of you who are part of our Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour Fellowship family to give without obligation but with a cheerful heart of worship. Your gifts allow God’s work to be done in our surrounding communities. Account name – Calvary Chapel Church Secret Harbour Incorporated – Account – 10891970 – BSB – 066-516.

Pastor’s Pen Revelation 2:2-5 (NLT)”I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. You have patiently suffered for me without quitting. But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.” If ever there was a relevant Sunday to meditate on this Scripture, it is this one at the beginning of the New Year 2025. It is a moment to examine your heart and ask: Is my walk with God now one where I am merely going through the motions without true emotion? This Scripture describes a certain danger stage in relationships—whether with God or even in marriage—where individuals begin to take one another for granted. They may live together, even attend church together, but the vibrant passion that once defined their bond has faded. God does not desire a relationship where we treat Him as routine. His heart longs for our devotion to be filled with genuine love and passion. Reflect today:
Are you easily forgoing prayer, Bible study, and fellowship? Do you find yourself taking God’s grace for granted? Remember Your First Love -Think back to before you were married or first fell in love. You eagerly looked forward to finishing work, preparing yourself, and spending time with your fiancé. You couldn’t wait to talk to them, to simply be in their presence. God desires that same relationship with you. When you first came to know Him, you couldn’t wait to: Be in church, worshipping alongside others. Pray and pour out your heart before Him.
Dive into His Word, discovering new truths. That kind of passion is what He’s calling you back to. Take Action Today Examine Your Heart: Are there areas where your passion for God has faded? Acknowledge them honestly.
Repent and Return: As the Scripture says, “Turn back to me and do the works you did at first.” Start anew by prioritizing prayer, studying the Bible, and seeking fellowship. Reignite Your Passion: Approach your relationship with God as you would a cherished love—with joy, anticipation, and enthusiasm. Prayer: “Lord, forgive me for taking Your love and grace for granted. Help me return to the vibrant passion I had for You when I first came to know You. Rekindle my desire to seek You, to love You deeply, and to live for You wholeheartedly. In Jesus’ name, Amen”
