This week at Calvary Chapel Welcome to Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour! Our focus here is the expository teaching of God’s Word, enabling you to understand the Bible in its proper context and take it literally and seriously as the inspired Word of God. For families with younger children, we provide Sunday school and creche facilities. We ask that children unable to sit through the service be placed in these programs. If needed, the church foyer is also available for parents caring for children who may not be ready to participate in the classes. To maintain a focused and respectful atmosphere during the service, please minimize movement once the service has commenced. If you need to step out, the ushers will guide you to the foyer upon your return. We are seeking to strengthen our prayer ministry here at Calvary. Pre-service prayer is vital as the team lifts up every ministry and person serving each Sunday morning. Without prayer, it is merely human effort, which achieves nothing of eternal value. We invite you to join the prayer team every Sunday morning before the service and every Wednesday evening here at the chapel. In 2025, let us all prioritize prayer in our personal lives and in the life of our church. Additionally, stay engaged with the Wednesday night teaching as we journey through the book of Joshua. Join us at the chapel at 7:00 PM or online via our YouTube channel at the same time. To get the full counsel of God, please make time to read both Joshua and 1 Corinthians, aligning with our current teaching series. Finally, we pray for a lasting ceasefire in Israel, and we are excited to announce, Lord willing, a trip to Israel in October 2026! With airlines resuming flights to Tel Aviv and more services beginning next month, we look forward to this incredible opportunity to walk where Jesus walked and experience the land of the Bible. Let us continue to seek God’s will, lift up the nation of Israel in prayer, and grow together in His Word!
Pastors Pen – PEACE IN ISRAEL
The situation in Israel remains delicate regarding the ongoing ceasefire and hostage negotiations with Hamas. The fluctuating nature of agreements—on one moment and off the next—reflects the fragile and tense reality of the conflict. It’s difficult to fathom how the world can view Hamas, a terrorist organization with a long history of violence against civilians, as a group to negotiate with. Yet, Israel deeply desires the safe return of its hostages to their families and seeks an end to the devastating conflict.
The hatred directed toward the Jewish people by groups like Hamas and Hezbollah runs deep. This animosity goes beyond mere political or territorial disputes; it is rooted in profound spiritual evil. Social media and recorded statements reveal repeated threats and promises of further violence, exposing a hatred that is both chilling and deeply entrenched. This hostility is not new. History has shown a consistent thread of hatred against God’s chosen people: from Pharaoh in Egypt to Haman in Persia, to Herod during Jesus’ time, to Hitler in the 20th century, and now Hamas, Hezbollah, and other groups in the 21st century. Ultimately, this pattern will culminate in the Antichrist’s future attempt at their annihilation. We must recognize this as more than a geopolitical struggle. It is a spiritual battle, with Satan seeking the destruction of the Jewish people because of their unique place in God’s plan. As believers, we are called to stand firm in faith, knowing that the Lord is sovereign over all things. Joshua 24:15 reminds us: “And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” Let us be a people who choose the Lord and stand in prayer for His will to be done, both in Israel and throughout the world.
Prayer Point: Pray for peace in Israel, for the safe return of hostages, and for wisdom and discernment among leaders navigating this challenging time.
Helen’s Heart Children come and listen to me I will teach you to worship the Lord – Psalm 34:11 What feeling is so nice as a child’s hand in yours? It reflects trust strength and guidance. Parents (grandparents) you have been given custody of teaching your children right from wrong, respect for others, coping with pressures and fears in a world less than whole. Such a charge, to nurture hope for their future that God has made! They need your strength to lean on and example to learn from. God has not left you alone in this responsibility. He who made your children will hear your petitions. He will sustain you and give you wisdom in this awesome task.
Calvary Chapel Nasinu – Fiji Pastor Charles is currently accommodating a couple and their 5 children due to their house being flooded until they can rebuild their home. Thankfully our Sunday school boxes (x3) arrived safely and they are very thankful for all that we sent to help the children of the Church. Please keep this faithful work in your prayers please.

I heard of a man who said to the preacher, “I want to sing in your choir.” The preacher replied, “But you don’t belong here. Where do you have your membership?” He said, “I don’t belong to any local church. I belong to the invisible church.” The pastor said, “Then I suggest that you join the invisible choir.” – Vance Havner
