Dailly devotion – Early 2025 – a call to prayer!

Pastor Keith   -

Romans 12:15″Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.”

1 Thessalonians 5:17″Pray without ceasing.”

Today, massive fires are burning unchecked in California, leaving countless people in anguish and dire need. Our brothers and sisters in Christ, including many from Calvary Chapel churches throughout California, are enduring this immense tragedy. Let us lift them up in prayer, asking the Lord to grant strength, protection, and provision. May the churches in these affected areas be a beacon of hope, offering aid and comfort to those suffering loss and devastation.

Beyond this immediate crisis, we are also reminded of other global tragedies. The brutal fighting in freezing conditions in Ukraine and the ongoing conflicts faced by Israel weigh heavily on our hearts. While we may be safe from these calamities, we are called to step into the gap and pray fervently for those enduring such hardships.

James 1:27″Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

True faith compels us to act in compassion, visiting those afflicted and standing steadfast in our commitment to live unspotted by the world. As the body of Christ, let us extend our prayers and tangible support where we can.

The Signs of the Times

As we step into 2025, let us remain alert and aware of the prophetic times we are living in. The birth pangs of Christ’s return are evident. Wars, natural disasters, and widespread suffering point us to the words of Jesus:

Matthew 24:7-8″Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.”

These events should stir us to greater urgency in prayer and action. We are not to fear but to remain steadfast, watching and working for the Lord as we await His return.

Call to Action

Pray Without Ceasing: Lift up California, Ukraine, Israel, and all those suffering worldwide. Pray for the Lord’s peace, provision, and presence to comfort them.

Extend Compassion: Support those in need through giving, serving, and encouraging others to do the same.

Live with Expectancy: Keep your heart and mind focused on Christ’s imminent return, walking in holiness and love.

Let us be a church that stands in the gap, interceding for the world and demonstrating the love of Christ in action and prayer.
